Find out more about Scilly's archaeological and historical heritage on a short break holiday based at the Star Castle Hotel,
St Mary's. The Star Castle was built in 1593 and has been a hotel since 1933. It is located in a commanding position on the top of The Garrison, St Mary’s and has wide-ranging views.
Below are the details of a 4 night holiday in May 2016 which included visits to sites of many different periods, from prehistoric to post-mediaeval, on St Mary's, St Agnes and Gugh, Tresco (including the world-famous Abbey Garden) and the uninhabited island of Samson. There won't be any archaeological holidays in 2017 but check back here in autumn 2017 to see what I am doing in 2018!
